Suggestion
Rails WITH TRAILS Along the Railroad Cut! We CAN Have Railroad, AND Trail next to each other. There IS THE SPACE! Most RWT Projects literally use the Railroad Access Road (upgraded to be fine gravel like the RIT) for most of the trail. Pave where it needs to be, but Pick a side and DO IT!
Suggestion
Still not wide enough for a Street Sweeper, OR 2 Bikes to pass each other... OR Emergency Vehicles.
Suggestion
DO Not put Barriers in this way. It prevents the Clcyling lane from being able to be used by Emergency Vehicles AND creates an undue Hazard to any Street Cleanup efforts. This increases the number of flat tires that Cyclists get due to Not being swept by the street sweepers or Plowed by the snowplows.
Suggestion
Bicycles SHOULD BE IN THE ROAD With the Cars as well. People just need to know that the Cops WILL TICKET DRIVERS For passing the cyclists in Residential and No Passing Zones. This IS THE LAW!
Suggestion
Do NOT Put barriers in the roadway to prevent vehicles from moving naturally.
Suggestion
DO Not take out lanes to Calm Traffic. This makes things WORSE for all people cause drivers will NEED To speed more to get thru in the same amount of time. Remember Bernoulli's principle describes the inverse relationship between fluid speed and pressure... The Fluid is the Cars Higher Speed to get the same number thru less lanes in a given area.
Suggestion
improved frequency of buses and better bus stops please.
Suggestion
Bike lanes with painted lines only will likely never feel safe in the northeast corridor. There is too much speeding, too many cars, and too much erratic driving already. We need separated lanes for bikes or else people will not use them.
Suggestion
Gladstone/Lexington after the bridge is a dangerous foot crossing. Even though there is a stop sign, it's a three way stop and many cars blow the stop sign there. Suggest improving the safety of this crossing to connect PH and SR neighborhoods better.
Suggestion
I would encourage traffic calming on Lexington Ave as well!
Suggestion
We have a lot of trees along cliff drive but we could categorize tree gaps, similar to sidewalk gaps in each neighborhood. This would further increase the cooling benefit of the trees already there and prioritize areas to plant!
Suggestion
We need more seating and trash cans! On cliff drive and throughout main streets! This will discourage people from dumping on the ground
Suggestion
I love the street tiles in the HNE!
Question
How does Cliff Drive connect to Columbus Park in a safe manner? It is not very bike friendly one the cliff drive trail ends
Suggestion
Love the MSP Minnesota example much more beautiful and cohesive than some of the other ones!
Suggestion
We are a beautiful historical part of the city. Let's stay away from eye sores for traffic calming and find ways to make it beautiful like with the use of trees and green space for example
Suggestion
Fully support adding more sidwalks along maple park (lexington ave) to connect to the gate 1 of cliff drive
Suggestion
Fully support traffic calming on independence ave
Suggestion
We need traffic calming near neighborhood schools. For example, people run the stop sign all the time at Brooklyn and Amie. It is one block north of the SVN charter school and the indepdence plaza playground. I have witnessed people speeding way above the speed limit on this section of Brooklyn ave, but there are no signs to indicate children playing or a school zone. Please increase signage and speed bumps or other traffic calming along Brooklyn Ave. Prospect is also where Garfield Elementary is located and immense speeding happens there as well.
Suggestion
It is difficult to cross on foot anywhere along independence ave, which means less people are using the pickleball courts or visiting the local businesses on the other side of independence ave. Crossing on Lexington Ave near park ave or olive is also very difficult and a lot of racing traffic. I would suggest further traffic calming efforts on Lexington with more crosswalks.
Suggestion
Love the idea of upgrading the 24 bus to true BRT, with frequencies of better than 15 minutes, as well as proposed frequency increases on the 12 and 21 bus routes (to 20 minutes).
Suggestion
I fully support increasing frequencies on the existing 12 and 21 bus routes. The 12 is the primary east/west bus route through this area, while the 21 is the only bus route that directly connects southeast KCMO , the east-side, the Historic Northeast, all the way to north of the river (up to Vivian-Antioch). I would support the City using more of the 1/2-cent Public Mass Transportation sales tax to pay for these frequency upgrades.
Suggestion
I fully support upgrading the 24 bus along Independence to true Bus Rapid Transit. Independence has plenty of space for dedicated rights of way along this entire stretch, and it would be an amazing first step to implementing the rest of the planned Bi-State Sustainable Reinvestment Corridor study. I would want to see signal priority for this route as well. The City could use more of the 1/2-cent Public Mass Transportation sales tax, or raise the existing 3/8th-cent sales tax up to a 1/2-cent (as is allowed by MO State Statute) to pay for implementation and ongoing operations.
